How do you cite a Twinkie(TM) Wrapper?
No, really. I have a student who is using the wrapper of a Twinkie as a source. How might that appear in the "Works Cited" page? Does it even need to?

i'm shocked that the MLA doesn't have some ruling on twinkie wrapper citation.

It's the "individually wrapped" designation that makes it so tricky. If it were just one big ol box o Twinkies, well, that would be too easy, wouldn't it?

I see a book in the future:
The Politics of Citation: How a Single Twinkie Wrapper Unraveled Academic Integrity.
It's really the yellow dye that needs citation. The rest, well, doesn't really exist.

Maybe he or she could follow the MLA citation for an advertisement? So...
name of product, company, descriptive label (wrapper) neither underlined nor enclosed in quotation marks. Conclude with usual publication information.
Or: Twinkie by Hostess. Wrapper. Date.
That's my guess.

i doubt very seriously a citation is required in this case. if it is, then the terrorists have already won.
